Pure And Unheard As Possible

November 25th, 2011

blue-foundation-tobias-with-a-camera

A lot of people has mailed us regarding the new Blue Foundation album.
We can’t give you any information yet about the new album. The only thing we know for sure is that it will be released in 2012. So sorry!! We know it’s done and Tobias is working hard on the artwork, but they will not play anything for us. He’s mysterious running round at night in NYC taking pictures. They say they want it pure and unheard as possible. We’re not quite sure what that means, but they have informed us that we should relax. They say that it’s without any doubt the best they’ve ever created…. It’s all we have for now - DPC Records

This is without any doubts a must have for Blue Foundation fans!
Bichi is the experimental side of Tobias Wilner’s project Blue Foundation. It’s a dimension you need to visit to fully understand what his work is about.
With Bichi Tobias Wilner is focusing atmospheric sounds, digital beat manipulation, nice melodies. The album “Notwithstanding” was original released on Opiate aka Thomas Knaks label Hobby Industries through Morr Music in 2005. The vocal on the album comes courtesy of Sara Savery (People Press Play / Ghost Society).

Together We Are Not AloneThe Japanese Red Cross Organization

I have played a lot of concerts in Japan as Bichi and Blue Foundation. I have shared the stage with Tenniscoat, Cacoy, Numb, Sokai, Cokiyo, D.O.I., DJ Baku, DJ Klock, Secai, Calm, Saidrum, DJ Krush… etc. Most of these artist are my very close friends. They know my family. They have lived in my home. I’ve been to their weddings. We have created art together. I live in New York these day, but I see Tokyo as my second home. I love that city. The earthquake in Japan had a big emotional impact on me. I’ve been reading the news ever since with questions like - How bad is the situation? Are my friends ok?
I wrote the song “Broken Life” to my friends in Tokyo.
It’s the first new Blue Foundation song to be released in a long time. I’m very excited about my cooperation with Cecilie Trier from Choir of Young Believers and Chimes & Bells. She plays a beautiful evil cello on the song. I/we hope you’ll like it.
Tokyo you’re always on my mind.

DeadPeople’sChoice Film

January 21st, 2011

DPC Film's Boris Bertram and Tobias Wilner at Toronto Film Festival

(in the picture: Boris Bertram and Tobias WIlner at Toronto FIlm Festival)

Hey everybody

We decided to start a film production company at Dead People’s Choice a year ago called DeadPeople’sChoice Film. We love music and we also love films. We love to tell stories. Most of all we want to set focus on some of the issues that surround us in this world. We have been doing a lot of cooperations over the last couple of years from Twilight to Miami Vice, documentary films, TV series, skateboard films, you name it.

Our first DeadPeople’sChoice Film production was the documentary  “Tankograd”. It has done really well so far. “Tankograd” has received two awards so far - Camden Film Festival and Art Doc Fest 2010 in Moscow. It has been nominated at HotDocs Film Festival, CPH Dox and The Magaret Mead Film Festival.

Our new production “Chips and Liver” has just been selected for Rotterdam Film Festival. — Tobias Wilner

R.I.P. Broadcast’s Trish Keenan

January 14th, 2011

trish-orange-big-hand-drew-brown-480
This is tragic. According to a statement on the Warp Records site, Keenan has died. It reads: “It is with great sadness we announce that Trish Keenan from Broadcast passed away at 9am this morning in hospital. She died from complications with pneumonia after battling the illness for two weeks in intensive care.

Our thoughts go out to James, Martin, her friends and her family and we request that the public respect their wishes for privacy at this time.

This is an untimely tragic loss and we will miss Trish dearly - a unique voice, an extraordinary talent and a beautiful human being. Rest in Peace.”
